About The Position

Position Overview The wave planner is responsible for allocating orders, releasing work to warehouse floor, balancing workflow, and ensuring inbound and outbound truck turn times are within acceptable levels. The wave planner is responsible for coordinating and managing various aspects of production planning, inventory control, and supply chain management. Dynamic Desk-to-Floor environment: This role requires approximately 50-70% desk-based analytical work and 30-50% active floor support. You are responsible for the strategic allocation of orders and workflow balancing within the Koerber/Infor WMS across all channels, including domestic/international wholesale, e-commerce, and assembly builds. This role acts as the central hub of the facility, ensuring inbound and outbound truck turn times remain within acceptable levels while maintaining a physical presence on the warehouse floor to troubleshoot issues and assist operations as needed.

Requirements

  • High School or GED required
  • Associate’s degree or two years of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum six months in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • MS Office skills include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint as well as data entry and typing ability.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions produced manuals and to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to manage small project assignments as necessary.
  • The mid shift operates Monday–Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Overtime should be expected during high-volume periods, and flexibility to work additional hours is required.

Responsibilities

  • WMS Management (Desk): Manage and adjust workload within the WMS for all channels based on priorities set by leadership and established SLAs.
  • Workflow Optimization (Desk/Floor): Responsible for keeping operations with steady workflow and advising when work is limited. Review daily backlogs to optimize the outbound transportation plan; evaluate and solve allocation issues to improve DC efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between the warehouse floor (Leads/Supervisors) and office teams (Customer Operations, Logistics, and Planning).
  • Operational Support (Floor): Spend a significant portion of the shift standing and moving throughout the facility to assist outbound associates, investigate aging waves, and provide hands-on labor support to meet shipping deadlines during peak times.
  • Performance Tracking (Desk): Create and review real-time reports to monitor order statuses and measure performance at all levels.
