About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater Team in Wilmington, DE or Bethlehem, PA . In this role, you’ll play a vital part in delivering sustainable water and wastewater systems that enhance public health and environmental quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience; minimum of 4 years of project management experience required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices
  • Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
  • Strong skills in project accounting, budgeting, and financial management
  • Proven ability to prepare proposals, project plans, authorizations, and closeout documents
  • Experience interpreting client contracts and managing multiple projects simultaneously with demonstrated success in managing client relationships
  • Articulate communicator who adapts messaging for diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in MS Office required; knowledge of Deltek Vision, MS Project, or Primavera P6 is a plus
  • Ability to travel as needed

  • Consulting industry experience highly preferred
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee every phase of water/wastewater projects, from planning to design and implementation, ensuring quality and efficiency at every step
  • Build and nurture client partnerships, understanding their needs and delivering creative, cost-effective solutions
  • Manage contracts, purchase orders, project documentation, and daily correspondence with clients and subcontractors
  • Take charge of project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash management, while ensuring timely payments and accurate reporting
  • Lead monthly project review meetings, communicating progress and updates to clients, management, and project teams
  • Develop and implement health and safety plans, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Embrace a “seller/doer” mindset, actively developing new business opportunities and expanding services provided
