About The Position

Freese and Nichols is currently searching for a Water and Wastewater Treatment Engineer to serve as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager in our San Antonio, Corpus Christi, or Harlingen, TX offices. As a project manager, you’ll guide multidisciplinary teams through the planning and delivery of large, complex, and essential systems. Primary Responsibilities: Lead and oversee the analysis, design, construction administration, and preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications for various water treatment, wastewater treatment, reuse, and resource recovery facility projects. Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers across multiple offices and disciplines Coordinate scope, schedule, and budget to ensure high-quality, on-time project delivery Serve as primary client contact, maintaining communication, trust, and long-term relationships Collaborate with subject matter experts on advanced technologies such as MBR, EBPR, RO, and desalination Support proposal development and participate in business development with existing and prospective clients Must have a proven ability to build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with clients, both internal and external, as well as representatives of local, state and federal regulatory agencies. The individual must have proven skills in managing complex projects, multi-discipline treatment plant projects and teams. Experience with projects in the $1M+ fee range is a plus. Must have a mix of technical experience including but not limited to water and wastewater process design, an understanding of treatment plant civil/structural/mechanical/electrical design, treatment process studies, and construction contract administration and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license (or the ability to become licensed in Texas within 6 months.)
  • 8+ years of related water and wastewater treatment experience with emphasis on plant process evaluation, design, and construction of municipal water or wastewater treatment plants.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, and strong presentation and sales skills needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering
  • Experience with projects in the $1M+ fee range is a plus.
