Aguirre & Fields is currently seeking a motivated Water/Wastewater Pipeline Engineer to join our growing Water Resources team . This is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career while working on meaningful municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects. In this role, you will support city and municipal projects involving planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure while developing business through the management of existing clients. The ideal candidate has at least ten (10) years of municipal water and wastewater pipeline experience, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and a Texas PE license (or the ability to obtain within six months). POSITION SUMMARY Water/Wastewater Pipeline Engineer will be responsible for the planning, design, and construction oversight of water and wastewater pipeline infrastructure projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES May supervise and give technical directions to engineers, engineering or computer-aided design (CAD) technicians, and other technical staff assisting with water and/or wastewater projects. Design and prepare engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water and wastewater pipeline projects. Conduct hydraulic modeling and pipeline capacity analysis. Perform site investigations and condition assessments of existing infrastructure. Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure project compliance. Prepare technical reports, permitting documents, and environmental assessments. Support construction administration, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and field inspections. Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Mentor junior engineers in training and support staff. Maintains knowledge and subject matter expertise. Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to build strong relationships.
  • Ability to design safe, efficient, and effective sanitary lift stations, water plants, and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, computer-aided Design (CAD) software, and other relevant analytical, scientific, or monitoring software.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable government environmental, safety regulations and permitting processes.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience working on small- and large-diameter water and sewer wastewater pipelines.
  • Experience with pipeline hydraulics and modeling experience with SWMM, WaterGEMS, InfoWater, or other relevant design software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • Licensed engineer in Texas or able to obtain within 6 months.
  • At least ten years of related experience required.
