About The Position

STV’s Austin, TX office is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineering Specialist to join our growing Water Practice Group. STV specializes in the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater facilities and pipeline infrastructure for municipal and utility clients throughout Texas. Our engineers work on high-quality, high-profile projects and actively participate in the full project lifecycle—from planning and design through construction and close-out. This role offers immediate opportunity to contribute to the design and execution of small and large diameter water and wastewater pipeline projects while supporting pumping, storage, and treatment system improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited or NCEES equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant water/wastewater experience
  • Experience designing small and large diameter water and sewer pipelines
  • Experience working with municipalities and utility providers
  • Experience with water and wastewater treatment and pumping facility design
  • Hydraulic modeling experience (InfoWater, InfoWorks ICM, WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of pipeline hydraulics, system operations, and conveyance design
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering design for water and wastewater pipeline projects, including small diameter (<24”) and large diameter (24”–108”) conveyance systems
  • Prepare contract documents including plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Perform hydraulic flow modeling and pressure calculations for pipelines
  • Conduct pump calculations and develop system curves for pump sizing
  • Support planning, design, and construction of water, wastewater, pumping, storage, and treatment facilities
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project requirements
  • Conduct site visits during design and construction to observe installation and progress
  • Assist with client communication, proposal preparation, and future business development efforts
  • Support or lead project management activities, including coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders
