Role description: The Water Business Lineâ¯is currently searching for interns to join our offices in Clifton Park, NY! The primary focus for this internship will be planning, design and construction administration for many project opportunities including: water, wastewater, stormwater and water management.â¯ Technical responsibilities will include; facilities planning, project design, permitting and construction administration activities as well as developing design reports and construction documents. Projects can involve facilities planning and design for treatment plants, pumping systems, pipelines, green infrastructure and flood protection. As a part of the design and engineering teams,â¯you'll help to create some of the world's most iconic and ground-breaking structures and spaces that transform the world around us, from making journeys easier toâ¯openingâ¯upâ¯public places that bring people together.

Requirements

Pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or closely related field.
Local candidates given preference - relocation assistance not available for this position.
Self-motivated, team-oriented and flexible individual must possess the initiative and ability to take on new projects and other challenges regularly.
Strong communication skills (both oral and written) are essential in this role as you will be working closely with staff and clients.

Responsibilities

Work on various aspects of water/wastewater/stormwater treatment and conveyance projects. This will include involvement in planning, process evaluations, detailed design, and construction administration.
Fieldwork such as conducting site visits, observing construction activities, collecting samples, analyzing water quality data, evaluating technologies and plant operations, troubleshooting processes, and optimizing operations.
Conducting condition assessments and overall performance evaluations of water/wastewater/stormwater facilities.
Preparing and delivering effective presentations, participating in client meetings, and interacting with clients and subcontractors in the field.
Ability to work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously, as well as strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
Exerciseâ¯judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
