About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for receiving, stocking, distributing, and removing material, tools, equipment and products for the production area. This role ensures smooth material flow and supports production by minimizing downtime through timely delivery and management of inventory and supplies.

Requirements

  • Must be safety conscious with an excellent safety record.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Working knowledge of computerized inventory control system.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one- on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory Control software and Order processing systems. Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook is required.
  • Attendance and punctuality are an essential function of this position.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States of America.
  • Forklift certification (will provide) Parts Knowledge.
  • Self-motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Transport large and small materials to and from staging areas and production work centers through use of Forklift, Pallet Jacks, Hand Carts, and overhead cranes.
  • Submit a Warehouse Requisition Slip when materials are required from stock.
  • Delivers products and materials to appropriate work centers promptly.
  • Record and verify accurate quantity of materials or items received, distributed, or returned.
  • Restocking Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Point of Use (POU) locations to maintain optimal supply levels.
  • Return unused materials from jobs to stock and complete appropriate data entries.
  • Consolidating requests related to back-orders or missing items from job carts.
  • Identifying and tracking frequency of m a t e r i a l outages/shortages.
  • Analyze issues and opportunities through use of pareto data and recommend improvements for point of use storage items.
  • Manage Kanban levels and alerts and recommend adjustments based on replenishment data.
  • Conduct audits of VMI levels and identify discrepancies or issues.
  • Data collection and assist in problem solving to improve material flow and inventory accuracy.
  • Back-order processing and complete replenishment activities.
  • Use computer systems to accurately enter and maintain inventory and requisition records.
  • Help maintain clean and orderly production areas.
  • Removal and disposal of waste products from production areas.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Works safely; takes accountability for self and others.
  • Inventory turns/obsolete inventory in work centers.
  • Understands and adheres to organizational and department policy and procedures.
  • Resolves conflicts respectfully and in a timely manner, asks for assistance from appropriate supervisor/HR as needed.
  • Participates actively in department team and all-staff meetings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Always communicate respectfully.
