About The Position

Under limited supervision, the Water Resources Maintenance Crew Lead performs and takes the lead on basic maintenance work in the watershed area.

  • One (1) season experience as Watershed Crew Member or outdoor maintenance work, such as fence building, lawn care or branch trimming.

Responsibilities

  • Takes lead role on the watershed crew in tasks such as fence and road repair, cutting and hauling timber, and clearing spillways and dams of timber and debris.
  • Performs basic maintenance work in the watershed area, including some forestry work.
  • Hikes several miles carrying tools to reach work site locations when necessary.
  • Patrols the watershed for trespassers.
  • Reads stream gages to ascertain the creek flow.
  • Performs related duties as required to meet the needs of the city.
  • Knows and complies with all city and department policies and participates in professional trainings and development.
