About The Position

EVS is looking for an Engineering Associate II – Water Resources to join our growing civil and renewable energy teams. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working with real-world data, building hydrologic and hydraulic models, and contributing to site designs that support utility-scale renewable energy projects. You’ll take on increasing ownership of modeling and reporting while continuing to grow your technical depth and professional confidence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 1–4 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, or related civil engineering work.
  • Proficiency with QGIS or ArcMap for data processing and map generation.
  • Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering principles.
  • Experience working with engineering standards, permitting requirements, and local or state regulations.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office and Bluebeam for documentation and QA/QC.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models using tools like QGIS and HEC-RAS with minimal supervision.
  • Translate survey, geotechnical, and regulatory data into clear, accurate digital models and reports.
  • Support design teams with calculations for culverts, drainage features, stormwater systems, and grading optimization.
  • Prepare hydrology and stormwater reports that are clear, accurate, and compliant with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform quality control reviews of junior staff work, providing constructive feedback and technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-disciplinary teams to support successful project delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of modeling workflows, documentation, and QA/QC practices.
