About The Position

As a Water Resources Engineer, you will support and lead hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, prepare drainage reports, develop design documents, and produce plans for stormwater and roadway drainage projects. You will contribute to the design of municipal storm sewer systems, surface drainage, and flood control solutions. Requirements

  • 4+ years of stormwater, H&H, and drainage design experience
  • Proficiency in OpenRoads, Civil 3D, or AutoCAD (OpenRoads training offered for candidates without experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering discipline
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS, SWMM, StormCAD, or similar modeling tools (preferred)
  • UDOT project experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Review design documents and reports; assist with project management and scheduling for stormwater projects
  • Perform H&H calculations using governing codes, standards, and engineering judgment
  • Prepare construction plans, specifications, technical memorandums, and drainage reports
  • Develop probable construction cost estimates
  • Observe construction activities and coordinate with contractors
  • Collaborate with roadway, geotechnical, structural, and other engineering disciplines
  • Conduct stormwater management and drainage studies in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Perform floodplain mapping and analysis for FEMA and local agencies
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers
