About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES General description of main/primary duties and responsibilities of the job, aptitude, level of complexity, span of control, autonomy, decision making and judgement. It is central and necessary to the satisfactory performance of the job. Includes the following and other duties as assigned. Under limited supervision, this position will: Oversee the development and maintenance of the following water infrastructure components, including but not limited to, permanent pump stations, buried and surface water pipelines, mobile water transfer equipment, permanent pump stations and water withdrawals, fresh water impoundments and above ground tanks, and instrumentation and controls for mobile and fixed facilities. Develop plans for future water infrastructure needs that evaluate technical and logistical feasibility, costs, economic justification, and timing of implementation. Assist in the development of long-term planning tools to ensure the Water group’s effectiveness in providing water for operations. Provide technical support to various groups within the Company to ensure the seamless integration of all aspects of water infrastructure as they are constructed. Provide input during the construction, hydro-testing and commissioning of new pipelines, tying in fresh water impoundments, etc. Develop and maintain hydraulic models for the fresh water pipeline network by utilizing Water Gems software. Evaluate current Flowback and Production water handling techniques and develop reliable and cost-effective alternatives to optimize processes directed at reducing truck hauling. Utilize hydraulic models, capital and operating costs, as well as, exposure to liability, government regulations, and other factors to develop Engineering solutions. Continually evaluate operating expense trends for water transfer and recommend specific ways to reduce those costs, for example, labor optimization, operating strategies, etc. Research outside operations, perform competitor studies for best practices, and learn from the Company’s peers. Network and make appropriate contacts to improve internal process and challenges. Engage and work with various internal and external groups to ensure compliance and adherence to Safety, Environmental, and best management practices and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Field of Study: Water Resources, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, Industrial, or other related Engineering field.
  • At least three (3) years of experience working in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. and use/operation of standard office equipment.
  • Foundational understanding of hydraulic modeling software and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Ability to speak, listen, and utilize effective communication tools and techniques.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Ability to assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of Antero
  • Ability to set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Proper knowledge of estimating, planning, and controlling the costs associated with engineering projects.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.
  • Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.
