About The Position

This Opportunity WSP is seeking a skilled and motivated mid-level Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Atlanta. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, designing, and executing water management projects, focusing on hydraulic and hydrologic (H&H) analysis, modeling, and infrastructure design. This position offers growth opportunities and involvement in a variety of complex and impactful tasks across multiple project phases. Your Impact Lead and support the design and analysis of hydraulic structures, including channels, culverts, spillways, and advanced stormwater management systems using industry-standard software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM). Prepare and review civil site plans, including construction layout, grading, utilities, stormwater management, soil erosion and sediment control, and detailed construction details. Conduct floodplain mapping, flood risk assessments, and mitigation planning. Develop, review, and coordinate technical reports, design documents, specifications, and permit applications to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. Prepare engineering reports, studies, and designs relevant to hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and stormwater management infrastructure. Ensure strict adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, permitting requirements, and professional standards. Perform site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, assess field conditions, and maintain quality control throughout project lifecycles. Stay current with emerging industry trends, technologies, and best practices, actively contributing to improvements and technical excellence within the team. Who You Are

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in hydraulic and hydrologic engineering or a comparable field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in engineering software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and GIS applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Master's degree in Water Resources or related field.
  • Prior design experience.
  • A member of and/or actively participates in local professional practice organizations.
