About The Position

EMH&T is looking for a Civil Engineer, PE to join our Water Resource team located in Columbus, OH. This position works directly with the client and is responsible for the planning and organizing of workflow, providing technical oversight of various project components, overseeing the preparation of design calculations, details and specifications, as well as plan reviews and modifications. In this position, you will be responsible for preparing calculations, participating in studies, and developing solutions involving stormwater management and flood risk assessment, mapping, and mitigation. You will have opportunities to work both independently and also as part of a collaborative team with professionals from other EMH&T practice areas for delivery of an overall project. Our Water Resources team has earned a strong reputation for engineering excellence and is consistently at the forefront of many of the public and private sector projects that are shaping the future of Central Ohio and beyond.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with 4 - 8 years of experience.
  • Professional Engineer license in the State of Ohio or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Significant experience with modeling software applications such as HydroCAD and HEC-RAS.
  • Strong technical report writing ability.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference given to candidates with a Master's degree in civil engineering with a focus on water resources; the ability to utilize AutoCAD and GIS in support of engineering design and to augment stormwater and floodplain management studies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing calculations, participating in studies, and developing solutions involving stormwater management and flood risk assessment, mapping, and mitigation.
  • Perform field assessments and complete the associated technical documentation.
  • Assist with and/or lead the development of technical proposals.
  • Assist with and/or lead client meetings, including development of agendas and managing follow-up work assignments.
  • Support the team by performing quality control reviews.
  • Work both independently and also as part of a collaborative team with professionals from other EMH&T practice areas for delivery of an overall project.
  • Provide mentoring and leadership, be proactive in your professional development & sharing your knowledge and experience.
