Requirements
- 5+ years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering field
- Knowledge of water supply system treatment and disinfection processes
- Experience in public facilities including schools and public housing developments
- NYS DOH Grade C Water Treatment Operator certification OR Master Water Specialist certification from the Water Quality Association required
Responsibilities
- Assess domestic potable water systems in multi-story buildings, investigate disinfection and testing programs and make recommendations for addressing water quality concerns
- Review and evaluate environmental reports and remediation designs prepared by others
- Prepare Disinfection and Water Quality Testing Plans
- Review building plumbing drawings and contractor work plans
- Oversee construction phase activities related to water supply system renovations and associated flushing/testing requirements, and prepare corresponding completion reports
