Position Overview: We’re hiring a full-time experienced Water Quality Field Service Engineer to cover the Chicagoland area. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining water quality, ensuring efficient systems, and providing exceptional service to our valued customers. Client Support: As a member of our team, you will support a diverse range of commercial and industrial clients, including food and beverage plants, hospitals, educational facilities, and more. Your role will involve working on systems such as cooling towers, boilers, process water, and industrial wastewater. We are committed to delivering top-notch water treatment solutions tailored to the unique needs of each client. You will receive dedicated support from an extended team to ensure our clients receive the best possible service. Requirements

  • Experience in engineering, chemistry, water treatment or related fields. Relevant degrees may include Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and others.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • While a college degree is preferred, if the candidate has no degree, then the candidate must have obtained knowledge in the field through a combination of work experience and intellectual instruction.
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, and self-motivation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • Successful completion of a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE), Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and Drug Screening
  • This position requires the ability to drive to customer sites for extended periods, perform frequent walking at customer locations, and occasionally climb stairs or ladders. The role includes handling chemicals while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • The position requires willingness to work in environments with hot and cold temperatures, exposure to chemicals, and elevated noise levels while wearing appropriate PPE for the face, ears, and hands.
  • Proficiency in English and legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly service existing customers by testing and analyzing water samples, reviewing systems, and adjusting equipment.
  • Independently plan and organize your service calls for optimal efficiency, ensuring effective account management, whether the service calls are via contract or one-time service on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis.
  • Solving varied and unique customer problems through analysis, interpretation and deduction applying chemical and process engineering techniques.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships, acting as an adviser and consultant, and managing accounts to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Obtain orders or contracts for services. You will also be responsible for managing price increases, preparing proposals for new equipment, and providing any additional support to ensure clients feel valued and receive top-notch service.
  • Working independently and exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • Continuously learn about water treatment systems, methods, chemistry.
  • Collaborate with customers, Service and Water Quality Engineers, and the Service Manager to deliver exceptional service and account management.
