About The Position

Accurately completes a variety of standardized analytical tests, examinations and procedures which may require the interpretation of results.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, plus proper training in a methods training course or by a qualified analyst.
• Must have a minimum of six months laboratory experience with the analysis procedures.
• Must have training in water analyses for total coliform and fecal coliform and satisfactory completion of a short course or structured in-house equivalent on the proper techniques of analysis.
• Must have minimum six months experience in microbiological analysis and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Performs microbiological and water quality testing
• Performs testing following quality control requirements in an unsupervised environment
• Handles samples according to chain of custody procedures
• Collects field samples
• Responsible for ensuring all Quality Assurance/Quality Control program requirements are met in all applicable work areas
• must have general knowledge of and adhere to safe and proper laboratory techniques
• Completes proficiency testing and quality control samples in an acceptable manner
• Performs routine computations, maintains records and reports results.
• Other duties as assigned
