About The Position

Swartz Restoration & Emergency Services, a leader in emergency property restoration has an immediate opening for a Water Mitigation Technician. Swartz is dedicated to helping families and businesses overcome the devastating setbacks caused by water, fire, wind, and other conditions resulting in property damage. In this labor-intensive construction-related position, you will play a crucial role in mitigating water damage while ensuring customer satisfaction. As a part of our commitment to your professional growth, we will provide comprehensive training, necessary equipment/tools, and opportunities to earn various IICRC mitigation certifications. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have construction experience/knowledge, a strong work ethic, and a passion for helping others.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License, an acceptable driving record & reliable transportation
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years of construction experience, experience using hand and power tools
  • Required to be On-Call one week of each month to respond to after-hours & weekend emergency calls
  • Must be willing to submit to an extensive criminal background check and a drug screen if selected for the position.
  • Must reside within 30 miles of the Swartz office in Lima, OH
  • Must exhibit a positive attitude, trustworthiness, dependability, & a solution-focused mindset
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours per work week, as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to pass a Physical & a Respirator Fit Test
  • Ability to work in confined spaces

Responsibilities

  • Visit new assignments/jobs, engage with customers, and effectively communicate project expectations.
  • Assist in initial water damage assessment/inspection, secure jobs, and perform mitigation, and restoration activities under the guidance of the Water Dept. Project manager.
  • Perform water extraction, drying, and dehumidification processes using specialized equipment per the IICRC guidelines
  • Set up and monitor the drying equipment, including air movers
  • Assist Water Dept. Project Manager with scheduling & coordinating onsite activity
  • Assist with the removal and disposal of damaged materials, such as carpets, drywall, and insulation.
  • Safely handle and transport restoration equipment and supplies.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and PPE guidelines
  • Provide exceptional customer service and address client inquiries or concerns professionally and courteously.
  • Record and report loss documentation (contracts, supply sheets, psychometric readings, temp timesheets, etc.) to the Water Dept. Project Manager
  • Assist management with scheduling and coordinating onsite activity
  • Maintain the Water Dept. vehicles and equipment
  • Maintain a clean, properly stocked, and organized company vehicle
  • Perform other duties as needed which may include cross-training in related positions.
