To provide technical expertise regarding all HVAC, Steam Distribution, Medical Gas System, Refrigeration, and Miscellaneous Auxiliary System. Continually records and maintains logs and data sheets of steam and celled water system. Reads, interprets and records all systems data. Inspects and tests, directly and on-screen, air, steam, and chilled and domestic water distribution system equipment. Operates, maintains, and repairs all HVAC systems such as computerized HVAC controls, pneumatic, electric-pneumatic, valve and damper operators, and other controls used in medical center mechanical spaces. Corrects and or alerts management to abnormal environmental and systems conditions (e.g., temperature variations, loss of utilities, steam and water pressures, and quality variances in water systems). Inspects and tests, directly and on-screen, air, steam, and water distribution system equipment as well as the panels, gauges, charts and meters which determine the operating condition and performance of equipment. Adjusts and calibrates controls as needed. Restores HVAC equipment shut down during fire emergencies. Takes necessary precautions to comply with institutional, departmental, or regulatory agency safety requirements and infection control standards. Participates as a member of the Fire Brigade as required. Interprets control panels, gauges, charts and meters which determine the operating condition and performance of equipment.
