A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WASTEWATER MAINTENANCE TEHNICIAN As a Wastewater Maintenance Technician, you spend your day maintaining grounds and landscaping, responding to customer complaints, transporting sludge, assisting other crews and performing equipment and vehicle inspections. Your work typically is to maintain and monitor all aspects of the city's wastewater infrastructure. Your job is essential to the city, and you often operate construction related equipment that will assist in maintaining grounds and landscaping. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include understanding knowledge of sewer line maintenance and repair. When you are not out in the city, you generally participate in learning about landscaping principles and proper sludge/waste disposal. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in maintenance and operation of sewer infrastructure and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!
