About The Position

The Wastewater Equipment Operator, part of the Public Works - Wastewater Division, is responsible for conducting extensive maintenance operations for the wastewater treatment facility, lift stations owned by Public Works, and the sludge disposal facility. This role also involves operating equipment essential for maintaining operations within all areas of the wastewater treatment plant and its associated facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Post-secondary education equal to less than a bachelor's degree.
• NM Utility Operator Certification Level 3 in Wastewater.
• 4+ years of experience in wastewater maintenance.
• Commercial Driver's License Class A with Tanker endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Perform extensive maintenance operations for the wastewater treatment facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment necessary for wastewater treatment plant and facility operations.
• Ensure the proper functioning of lift stations owned by Public Works.
• Conduct maintenance at the sludge disposal facility.
• Collaborate with plant operators to ensure equipment reliability.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain equipment in good working condition.
• Assist with equipment repairs and replacement as needed.
