This person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of budgeting, design, and construction of Water and Wastewater treatment plants. This includes design specifications and calculations, submittal drawings, assistance with bid, proposals, budgets, and estimating. This will be a hybrid role, based out of our Houston office.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with environmental regulations is an asset.
  • Familiarity with process treatment software including Biowin, GPS-X, and hydraulic analysis software would be preferred.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Must be able to develop and make good use of process and instrumentation drawings.
  • An intense motivation for professional growth and a strong desire to learn.
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments concurrently under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work hybrid schedule (3 days per week in the office, required).
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering from an accredited university. Graduate level degree is preferred.
  • Must have an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to take and pass the required examination within six months.
  • Experience in Water and wastewater Treatment Plants is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Strong background in process design of water and wastewater treatment plants, including biological treatment, mechanical treatment, and physicochemical treatment processes.
  • Prepare technical documents including preliminary design, detailed design calculations, and related specification documents.
  • Oversee and review the development of the submittal, fabrication, and construction drawings.
  • Understanding of engineering designs, layouts, and process piping, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation details.
  • Familiarity with Regulatory agencies permitting process for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, budgeting, and estimating.
  • Occasional site visits to plant facilities.
  • Act as a liaison with public and private sector clients, government review and approval agencies, consultants, and contractors.
  • Review local, state, and federal regulatory requirements for compliance.
