About The Position

Overview We have an exciting opportunity for a Wastewater Construction Supervisor to join our team! Supervisor in the Wastewater Collection Department responsible for overseeing wastewater and stormwater collection system subcontracted construction activities. Plans, assigns, coordinates and monitors subcontractor construction crews engaged in wastewater collection system maintenance construction activities. Construction activities will include but not be limited to line and manhole repair and replacement, ditch restoration, and catch-basin and inlet repair and replacement. Monitor subcontractor crews to ensure work is executed in accordance with company standards; work is conducted in a manner to protect personnel, customers and public. Requirements

  • Requires thorough knowledge of the methods, techniques and principles of supervision and management as acquired through 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of wastewater and stormwater collection system maintenance construction activities, including line and structure repair and replacement, ditch repair and restoration, and other related construction activities.
  • Ability to plan the construction work and oversee construction subcontractors in performance of the work at optimum costs.
  • Knowledge of safety rules, practices and an ability to provide instructions and interpretation of policies, rules and practices effectively to crews.
  • Must have a valid drivers license with a safe driving record.
  • Must demonstrate a working ability to use computer programs for maintenance management, budgeting and day -to-day word processing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and assigns task orders for construction contractors based on needs identified from Service Request responses and production maintenance activities. This will include site investigation, scope of work development, assignment of contractors, monitoring of activities and verification of work product quality.
  • Monitors the performance of construction subcontractors to ensure compliance with company standards for wastewater collection system construction.
  • Communicates with customers impacted by construction activities.
  • Checks correctness and workmanship of completed work and ensures appropriate data is entered into the maintenance management system.
  • Performs emergency on-call duties on a rotating basis.
  • Performs other duties and/or activities as assigned.
