Overview The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation of Water/Wastewater infrastructure projects for public, private, and municipal utility district clients. In addition to leading a team of inspectors and technical professionals, this position will be actively involved in partnerships within the communities we serve. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering or construction management from an ABET-accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive construction project management experience with demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Proven ability to manage personnel as well as coordinate, and schedule work of project team in construction management and inspection activities
  • Must be able to work from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, to be available to serve each other and our clients.
  • When it is important to meet a crucial deadline, overtime may become necessary
  • Travel may be required, including working in remote locations for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation in the State of Texas or successfully obtain within 12 months
  • Certified Construction Manager Certificate (CCM) through CMAA
  • Other certifications related to Construction and Engineering are a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in constructability, Risk Management, Value Engineering, estimating, and schedule management
  • Experience as an owner’s representative
  • Experience as a responsible project manager developing budgets and invoicing
  • Previous experience executing public works programs or projects
  • Experience with large capital projects with particular emphasis on water and wastewater treatment plants and large diameter collection and distribution pipelines
  • Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring project team members
  • Experience with business development and proposal support

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management oversight throughout all phases of a construction project/projects including budget, schedule, risk, and stakeholder management to execute the client’s project goals and objectives
  • Confirm the project meets the client’s requirements, budget, schedule, and regulatory agencies guidelines
  • Direct and supervise construction inspection staff
  • Serve as the liaison between engineers, contractors, testing agencies, and the client
