About The Position

The Wash Supervisor is responsible for managing labor cost, efficiencies, coordination of daily crewing, process improvement and all other activities related to the Wash Department. This position is for 2nd shift which is an evening shift. Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent and higher; must have at least three to five years of experience working in a packinghouse environment
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, understand, and follow instructions and/or directions and posted work rules; must be computer literate and able to utilize software programs; must be able to adapt to changing standards on a routine basis; must be fluent in English and Spanish; must be able to communicate openly and be clear and understandable when communicating verbally and/or in writing; must provide leadership and guidance to employees and delegate tasks; must motivate and encourage employees to reach their maximum potential
  • Must be able to prioritize assignments, multi-task, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting
  • Must be able to work successfully in a team atmosphere; must be able to multi-task; must be able to demonstrate a positive attitude; must be able to accept constructive criticism
  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding to fulfill written, oral or visual instructions; interpret instructions furnished both verbally and in written form

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, manage, coordinate, assist, mentor and schedule employees in the Wash department, including but not limited to the off-season preventive maintenance program
  • Schedule and conduct monthly safety tailgates and trainings as needed
  • Plan and coordinate activities for the following day (crewing, receiving, washing, de-greening, storing, preventive maintenance, start-ups, Harvest daily fruit shipments, etc.)
  • Monitor labor cost and ensure efficient wash output according to company goals
  • Insure proper communication when collaborating with other departments to coordinate plant-wide activities
  • Work with Graders and communicate daily to guarantee maximum fruit utilization
  • Maintain work areas Audit Ready at all times
  • Track consumable inventory items; communicate with Purchaser to maintain safe stock levels
  • Utilize computer daily; operate programs such Microsoft Excel, Word, and Enterprise Resource Planning (E.R.P.)
  • Ensure proper clean-up and sanitary measures for the treatment tanks
  • Manage and monitor the bin flow coming in and out of the plant; coordinate bin repairs as needed
  • Monitor juice percentage daily
  • Monitor fruit; ensure fruit de-greens and ethylene percentage is applied
  • Conduct regular line audits to maintain safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and food safety standard; run quality checks, input information accurately into data system and run run reports
  • Understand, follow, enforce, and comply with all Food Safety rules and regulations
  • Perform all other duties as directed by the Plant Superintendent/GM or VP/Director of Packing
