About The Position

Develop and distribute routine functional newsletters to the field on current and emerging warfighter initiatives. Draft standard operating procedures for tasks accomplished within the branch or division and approved by the Government. Provide analysis for new warfighter communications equipment. Provide subject matter expertise of warfighter communications units in training, exercises, or deployments. Provide subject matter expertise regarding warfighter communications, defensive cyber operations, offensive cyber operations, and mission assurance future initiatives. Provide recommendations on issues impacting the cyber/spectrum communities. Provide subject matter expertise in tactical and strategic communications systems, including but not limited to line-of-sight, beyond-line-of-sight, satellite communications, and IP-based networks. Develop communications plans, contingency communications support, and tactics, techniques, and procedures to enable real-time decision-making and command and control. Provide project tracking, milestone management, and reporting to support the successful execution of branch programs and initiatives. Compile data and lessons learned from exercises, deployments, and operations to inform future planning and system improvements. Track and monitor nuclear command, control, and communications systems sustainment, operations, and manning. Provide support, planning, and implementation of continuity of operations and mission assurance planning. Provide subject matter expertise for mission planning, develop concepts of operations, and plan and execute site surveys to ensure communications requirements are aligned with operational needs for upcoming exercises and/or deployments. Provide guidance and support real-world operations, including humanitarian assistance/disaster relief, crisis response, and/or combat operations with warfighter communications capabilities. Evaluate and field emerging warfighter communications capabilities. Attend and provide subject matter expertise in a range of warfighter communications discussions to include executive council, cyber roadmap, advisory boards and other events as required.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in expeditionary or combat communications, spectrum, and/or warfighter communications.
  • Strong understanding of mission planning, cybersecurity principles, and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate operational and tactical concepts.
  • Active DoW Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain).
  • Adhere to Cyber Workforce Role qualifications as identified in AFRC/A6 EIT PWS, para 5.2.1.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of XComm Site Planners Course (or equivalent) highly desired.
