About The Position

The Warehouse/Yard Employee is responsible for handling inbound and outbound goods, materials, and equipment within the warehouse and yard. This role requires strong computer skills to accurately track inventory, maintain records, and update reports while supporting daily operations and maintaining safety, cleanliness, and efficiency standards.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and inventory or tracking systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly in maintaining accurate digital records.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Reliable and able to work independently.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50–75 pounds.
  • Ability to bend and squat repetitively.

Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound and outbound goods, materials, and equipment for the warehouse and yard.
  • Tag, label, and stock all warehouse supplies while accurately entering and updating data in computer systems.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks using forklifts and other warehouse machinery.
  • Efficiently complete tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, yard, building, and premises.
  • Organize supplies and construction equipment in warehouse and yard areas.
  • Coordinate work activities with coworkers, transporters, and other departments using digital communication tools.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts using computerized tracking systems and report discrepancies to the supervising manager.
  • Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of yard equipment and log results electronically.
  • Maintain, organize, and update all yard paperwork and electronic records.
  • Clean and wash equipment as needed.
  • Support the yard mechanic with daily tasks.
  • Update equipment utilization logs, inventory records, and operational reports using computer software.
  • Perform minor mechanical work such as replacing hoses or light bulbs.
  • Coordinate and document required equipment inspections.
