About The Position

This position is responsible for operation of the donation center

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Warehouse and forklift operation
• Class E operator’s license
• forklift certification (obtained within 90-days of employment)
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff members, donors and volunteers
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment including, but not limited to, baler and forklift
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• speaking, hearing and vision
• excellent manual dexterity
• lifting, pulling and pushing materials weighing 50 pounds or more
• bending, squatting and walking
• standing for extended periods of time
• Driving is required; must possess a valid driver's license and be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise the sorting of donations
• Wash and clean incoming donations for sale floor
• Bale clothing using baling equipment
• Move materials using a forklift as needed
• Unload materials and load bales onto truck
• Maintain the cleanliness and order of the warehouse
