About The Position

This position is responsible for driving a company truck used for transporting goods from plants to stores and picking up special donations at residences and commercial businesses. The Warehouse Worker assists with the transportation of used goods, new goods salvage, and trash. Assists with the handling and storage of donations. The position also assists the Warehouse Manager with other duties, as necessary.

Requirements

One to two years’ experience driving a truck of three tons or less capacity.
Previous position that has demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to the operation of a large truck.
MUST have a valid Texas Driver’s License; and must be insurable.
Must pass Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisors and team members to promote a positive teamwork culture.
Must be able to work with people who have disabilities and diverse backgrounds.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, on short notice, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Occasionally more than 40 hours per week.
Must be able to perform in a hectic work environment.
Must have working knowledge of men’s, women’s, and children’s clothes.
Must have working knowledge of hard-lines and soft-liners.
Must be able to travel when required to other Goodwill Industries Inc. within West Texas and Southern New Mexico.
MUST be able to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

High School diploma or GED preferred.
Retail Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Drive a company truck to transport goods from Alameda plant to Retail stores and pick up special donations at residences and commercial businesses.
Assist with the transportation of used goods, new goods salvage, and trash.
Assist with the storage of donations.
Maintain general knowledge of city streets and local area.
Safely drive a box truck, or larger, to transport goods from warehouse to retail stores.
Responsible for providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Must work well with retail store management and employees.
Regularly read and route a map for deliveries and pick-ups.
Knowledge and daily use of bill of lading procedures.
Responsible for inspecting trucks and completing truck inspection forms on a daily basis.
Responsible for loading and unloading large and small truckloads.
Must work safely, observing all safety procedures and use necessary equipment in a safe manner.
Must report all safety related incidents/accidents to the Manager or the Safety Representative in a timely manner.
Reads and practices the policies and procedures of Goodwill Industries of El Paso.
Ensures that all team members comply and practice the policies and procedures of Goodwill Industries of El Paso.
Reports for work as scheduled, using the provided time clock to accurately record time worked.
Acts as positive role model for other team members, trainees, and community service workers.
Provides pleasant and helpful customer service.
Ensure that all baling logs are properly utilized with correct bale number and weight.
Assists with the daily collection and transportation of salvage material, supplies and waste materials from stores and warehouse.
Keeps warehouse clean and hazard-free.
Must be able to work within the baling operation.
Complies with theft and loss prevention policies of Goodwill Industries of El Paso Inc., reporting all suspicious activities to Warehouse Manager and/or Safety/Loss Prevention.
Must attend regularly scheduled store meetings and trainings.
Must dress appropriately for work area.
Keeping a neat and clean appearance.
Must have a valid Driver License and auto insurance required.
Must have access to reliable transportation.
Must comply with all Safety Rules and Regulations.
Must perform all other duties as assigned.
