About The Position

Gordon Food Service is looking for a Warehouse Technology Solution Architect who will be high-level change agent to join our Supply Chain IT team. This role bridges the gap between ambitious business objectives and technical execution to optimize our North American warehouse operations. As one of the largest privately held foodservice distributors in North America, we invite you to help us steer discussions with senior leadership and translate strategy into the next generation of supply chain technology.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of extensive warehouse and supply chain systems experience, specifically with WMS and end-to-end supply chain management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of cloud-native application architecture, integration, security, and automation.
  • A service-oriented attitude with the ability to lead, multi-task, and solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills to guide product teams to excellent outcomes and steer discussions with senior personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in wholesale distribution and/or manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Architectural Strategy & Design: Translate business drivers and emerging technology trends into system blueprints that achieve targeted outcomes. You will create reference architectures focused on detailed design principles and dependencies between business and IT.
  • Operational Optimization: Focus on key capabilities for North American warehouse teams, including inventory management, receiving, putaway, order management (picking, packing, shipping), slot optimization, returns, and labor management.
  • Advanced Innovation: Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to enhance core warehouse functions through real-time data analysis and micro-trend identification.
  • Systems Integration & Delivery: Ensure seamless connectivity between Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERPs, and warehouse storage/handling/sortation systems to provide real-time tracking and automated workflows.
  • Strategic Roadmap & Governance: Develop the future-state application portfolio roadmap and direct governance activities to ensure compliance with Enterprise Architecture (EA) standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, technology vendors, and agile teams to maintain a robust "architectural runway" for future growth.
