About The Position

The Salvage Technician/Warehouse Assistant at Trane Technologies plays a crucial role in the company's mission to create sustainable and efficient climate solutions. This full-time, on-site position involves two primary functions: disassembling unused or damaged equipment to salvage functional parts for reuse, and assisting with general warehousing duties. The salvage operations include identifying, testing, cleaning, and documenting reusable parts, as well as environmentally responsible disposal of non-salvageable materials. General warehousing tasks encompass receiving, storing, picking, packing, shipping, inventory management, and maintaining an organized warehouse. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical components.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Basic computer skills for inventory management and documentation.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Time management and multitasking abilities.

  • Previous experience in equipment disassembly, salvage operations, or warehousing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble unused or damaged equipment to identify and retrieve functional parts.
  • Test and clean salvaged parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Document salvaged parts and update inventory records accordingly.
  • Dispose of non-salvageable materials in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
  • Assist in receiving, unpacking, and storing incoming inventory.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and audits.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
