About The Position

The Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for the direct supervision of all warehouse team members, including forklift drivers and material handlers. This role ensures safe, accurate, and efficient execution of all receiving, picking, packing, staging, loading, and shipping activities. The Team Leader maintains daily workflow, coaches team members, resolves operational issues, and supports continuous improvement. A working knowledge of shipping/receiving practices and a basic understanding of logistics (carriers, freight terms, documentation) is required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of warehouse/distribution center experience.
  • 1+ year in a lead, coordinator, or supervisory capacity (or equivalent).
  • Proficient with shipping and receiving processes and documentation (BOL, packing list, ASN, labels).
  • Basic understanding of logistics (freight modes, carriers, scheduling, incoterms/freight terms).
  • Experience with ERP and RF scanning.
  • Ability to operate/oversee forklifts in accordance with company/OSHA standards.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA-compliant Forklift/PIT certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily warehouse operations across receiving, picking, packing, cycle counts, staging, and shipping.
  • Assign labor, balance workloads, and monitor KPIs
  • Verify outbound shipments meet requirements (labels, documentation, seals, counts, and condition).
  • Oversee inbound receiving (BOL/packing list verification, damage reporting, system receipts).
  • Ensure proper material handling, location management, and space utilization.
  • Directly supervise forklift drivers and warehouse associates: train, coach, schedule, and conduct performance feedback.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and team engagement.
  • Support onboarding, cross-training, and certification of equipment operators.
  • Enforce OSHA and company safety policies; conduct pre-shift huddles, safety talks, and incident reports.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready warehouse.
  • Ensure proper use and inspection of powered industrial forklifts and PPE.
  • Drive accuracy in counts, locations, and transactions; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support cycle counts, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and documentation.
  • Maintain documentation for audits (shipping docs, BOLs, proof of delivery, receipts).
