About The Position

The Warehouse Team Lead oversees the daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing, and overall distribution and product returns. This role provides leadership to associates, coordinates workflow, and supports the warehouse supervisor/manager in meeting safety, quality, productivity, and service goals. The Warehouse Lead serves as a key point of contact for the team, ensuring smooth operations and a safe, organized work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or varying shifts as needed, especially during peak shipping periods.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching. Must be able to endure warehouse environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.

Responsibilities

  • Function-Specific Oversight: Lead and direct the daily operations of the assigned function (e.g., receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control), ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Team Leadership: Provide direction, training, coaching and support to warehouse associates within the designated function. Assist in onboarding new team members and providing ongoing skill development. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the assigned function. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, customer satisfaction and reducing operating costs.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all products and materials are handled and stored according to company standards. Conduct regular quality checks and address any issues promptly.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety, quality and operational and procedures that is aligned with the company’s written safety policy. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Inventory Management: Support cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and root cause/resolution of discrepancies to the warehouse leadership team.
  • Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with other warehouse leads and departments to ensure smooth operations across the warehouse. Communicate effectively with the Assistant Warehouse Manager and other stakeholders. Assist in operating warehouse equipment (i.e., forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, etc) as needed.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records and generate reports related to the assigned function. Provide updates and feedback to the Assistant Warehouse Manager as needed.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise within the designated function. Escalate complex problems to the Assistant Warehouse Manager when necessary.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
