About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for maintaining order, safety, and productivity within the warehouse and dock areas. This role oversees employees, beneficiaries, and volunteers while ensuring materials are processed, transported, and distributed effectively for maximum resale value.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation, warehouse operations, or loading dock supervision-or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write basic instructions and reports.
  • Strong verbal communication skills; must speak and understand English clearly for safe operations.
  • Ability to apply common-sense judgment and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; fractions/decimals; percentages).
  • Valid state driver's license required.
  • Ability to obtain certifications necessary to operate equipment or vehicles used in the role.
  • Regular use of hands/arms; frequent standing, walking, balancing, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly, up to 100 lbs frequently, and over 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Must meet vision requirements for distance and some close-range tasks.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and warehouse environments.
  • Moderate noise levels.
  • Occasional travel to other store locations may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain organization and safety across dock and warehouse operations.
  • Ensure proper and safe loading, unloading, transporting, and processing of materials.
  • Supervise forklift and equipment operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
  • Oversee operation of weight scales and accurate recording of weights.
  • Direct incoming materials to warehouse, dump, or As-Is sales for optimal resale value.
  • Collaborate with the Store Supervisor and Director of Operations regarding product distribution.
  • Supervise and support employees, beneficiaries, and volunteers while upholding Salvation Army standards.
  • Oversee truck and unit loading/unloading.
  • Manage loading of mattresses, trailers, and bales; coordinate pickups as needed.
  • Assist with work therapy assignments and enforce program requirements.
  • Utilize provided back guards and follow safety protocols when lifting/moving items.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Support and uphold the mission of The Salvation Army.
