About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is primarily responsible for supervising and coordinating all Shipping and Receiving functions to ensure the product is received and shipped correctly and on time, as per company requirements and customer specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum two years previous experience in a Supervisory role in distribution or manufacturing required.
  • A minimum of five years of direct shipping and receiving experience in distribution or manufacturing is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and make decisions within accepted guidelines.
  • Ability to implement programs designed to enhance plant operations and to promote safety.
  • Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions with little or no guidance.
  • Must be proactive and continuously looking for improvements in the warehouse functions.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to daily changes in priorities, job duties and environment and must be able to present/recommend solutions to problems arising due to the change.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must develop and maintain positive working relationships with all levels of employees whether individually or in a team environment.
  • Proficient in using electronic warehouse management systems.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating sit down and stand-up reach forklifts.
  • Must hold current and valid Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or agriculture is preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the shipping and receiving function to ensure that goods are received, and shipments are processed promptly, accurately, and according to customer requirements.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Ensure finished goods are pulled following the first in first out method and stock is rotated to minimize product break up and waste.
  • Ensure staff is maintaining regular organization of finished good products and cleanliness of aisles.
  • Ensure that all stock is stored in the correct location in the warehouse.
  • Maintain accuracy of inventory levels in all warehouse locations. Conduct and/or direct regular cycle counting of finished goods and ensure all transactions are correctly entered into the organization's inventory system.
  • Schedule materials being transferred to and from the warehouse; coordinates the transfer of inventory between departments.
  • Communicate any product shortages to Production Supervisor and/or Plant Manager.
  • Ensures all employee owners are efficiently and safely operating powered industrial equipment.
  • Manage relationships with logistics vendors and corporate traffic and customer service.
  • Schedules bulk railcar deliveries and release of railcars.
  • Directs activities of bulk unloaders.
  • Cross trained in all roles in order to act as a back-up to fill in for Shipping and Receiving Lead, S&R Coordinator and Forklift Operators as needed.
  • Hire, train, supervise, motivate, develop, and provide feedback to employee owners.
  • Ensure employee owners understand their departmental priorities and goals; ensure the department is staffed to match priorities while also optimizing departmental efficiencies.
  • Ensure a positive work environment in alignment with Trinidad/Benham Corp. values, corporate policies and procedures.
  • Resolve employee issues in coordination with HR Manager by utilizing progressive coaching and development techniques.
  • Comply with company safety policies and maintain clean and orderly work area; and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
