Location: 2330 Roosevelt Ave - San Antonio, Texas 78210 Position Summary: This role is responsible for providing operational leadership for the facility, which includes providing technical and managerial expertise necessary for the efficient and profitable operation of the distribution center. Assures the distribution center is in a constant state of preparedness to meet schedules and take advantage of opportunities that arise, including production planning, logistics, inventory, incoming and outgoing shipments, and the handling and disposition of materials. Here’s what you’ll do: Provide leadership and ensures compliance with all required safety, regulatory, environmental and company programs, including Federal, State and Local regulations. Manage inventory control programs and warehouse requirements. Enforce company policies and safety regulations for all associates and contractors. Coordinates various programs essential to distribution center procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, quality, associate involvement, security, etc.). Analyze operational failures for root cause and operational efficiency. Assist distribution center leadership with budgeting warehouse and reclamation operations. Direct salvage of damaged or used material. Ensure efficient distribution center operations for process improvements, operational cost control and energy management. Work effectively with customer, other operations leaders and transportation regarding distribution center activities including production activities, complaints, concerns or violations of loading and unloading product. Effectively communicates with internal and external customers to solve problems and drive process improvement. Support/facilitate communication at the facility on topics including damage, safety, and energy through pre-shift meetings, written communication and one-on-one interaction with associates. Promote a culture of continuous improvement with associates and supervisors. Actively solicit feedback from associates at all levels to improve operations. Effectively administer corrective action and progressive discipline ensuring that associates receive equitable treatment. Act as an advocate for company administered training and education programs. Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment. This may include but is not limited to: Work with maintenance team to maintain the physical condition of the warehouse facility and ensure equipment is in proper working condition. Ensure procedures for the efficient operation and utilization of all warehouse equipment is followed; address any issues or concerns promptly. Promote and reinforce safety and security awareness; report and/or address any issues or work-related injuries. Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals. Work with Director Distribution to prepare and monitor operating, labor and capital expenditure budgets as required. Maintain current knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends and best practices within Distribution Center operations; make recommendations to improve current processes and to ensure company legal compliance. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (Required) or GED.
  • Three years' experience in a warehouse environment.
  • One year experience in a supervisory/management role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Effective meeting facilitation skills and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of distribution software and inventory/warehouse management software.
  • Effective time management and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.

  • College degree preferred.
