About The Position

Technica is seeking a Warehouse Specialist for the 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm) at the DLA Distribution Center in Tracy, CA. This role involves a variety of warehousing duties including verifying materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages, routing materials to storage, storing and organizing materials, taking inventory, examining materials for deterioration, constructing and repairing shipping materials like boxes and pallets, and preparing materials for shipment. The specialist will be trained and licensed to operate hand or power trucks and Material Handling Equipment (MHE). The position requires working in diverse weather conditions, prolonged standing or sitting, and the ability to lift 40 pounds. Candidates must be willing to be trained on forklifts and stock selectors, which involves working at heights of 30 feet and adhering to a 300 lb equipment limit (including safety harness). A good working knowledge of governing supply systems, policies, and guidelines is required, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening, background checks, and meet government facility base access requirements.

Requirements

  • This worker will be trained and licensed on the operation of hand or power trucks and MHE for performing warehousing duties
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, blowing sand, heavy rain, snow, and sleet
  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must have a good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, and other established guidelines
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
  • Must be willing to be trained to operate a forklift and stock selector - being lifted in the air 30 feet and must meet the 300 lb limit of the equipment (includes the safety harness)
  • Must meet the government facility base access requirements
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks related to the position.

Responsibilities

  • Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents
  • Noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages
  • Routing materials to prescribed storage locations
  • Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods
  • Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials
  • Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage
  • Constructing and repairing boxes, pallets, wood bracing to be used in shipping and storage, as needed.
  • Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
