SUMMARY: The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for the distribution of building materials (primarily roofing and siding products) to residential and commercial builders and contractors.   • Ability to move or lift up to 100 lbs., frequently

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Employee must have valid driver’s license.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision.

Responsibilities

  • Working with other employees in a team environment.
  • Read work orders/ invoices to determine materials needs for customer pick-up or delivery.
  • Moving / lifting heavy materials by hand - up to 100 lbs, frequently.
  • Operating a forklift to load a customer’s vehicle, load an Erie Materials delivery truck, unload a vendor truck, move material in stock, etc.
  • Cleaning warehouse area(s) including organization of materials, sweeping warehouse floors and parking lot areas, emptying trash cans, etc.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
