About The Position

As a Warehouse Specialist in the sheet metal manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and finished products. Your primary focus will be to maintain accurate inventory records, manage stock levels, and coordinate with production and logistics teams to support seamless manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for implementing and adhering to safety protocols and quality standards to protect both personnel and products. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement to optimize warehouse processes and reduce operational costs. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute directly to the timely delivery of high-quality durable goods to customers, supporting the company’s reputation and business growth.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working in a warehouse role in a manufacturing plant.
  • Basic proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and effectively.
  • Clean driving record
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage inventory accuracy and order fulfillment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in forklift operation or other relevant warehouse equipment.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations such as OSHA standards applicable to warehouse environments.
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain and logistics processes within manufacturing.
  • Ability to use handheld scanners and mobile computing devices for inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
  • Organize and store materials and finished products in designated warehouse locations to maximize space utilization and accessibility.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems and conduct regular cycle counts to ensure data integrity.
  • Drive company vehicles to deliver or pick up products or materials to various locations.
  • Safely and securely load and unload goods from vehicles, ensuring they are properly secured during transport.
  • Coordinate with production, quality control, and logistics teams to prioritize and fulfill material and product movement requirements.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, including forklifts and pallet jacks, while adhering to all safety guidelines.
  • Prepare and package orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or safety hazards to management promptly.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Various other warehouse duties as assigned.
