About The Position

NextGen Federal Systems is seeking a highly motivated CDL Driver & Warehouse Operations Specialist to support federal logistics and transportation initiatives in Pineville, LA. This dual-role position requires expertise in professional driving—specifically the operation of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs)—as well as hands-on proficiency in warehouse and logistics support activities. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of relevant professional experience. Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of professional or relevant experience in commercial driving, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Active Secret security clearance at time of hire, with the ability to obtain Top Secret.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), with a clean driving record.
  • Proven proficiency in the safe operation of CMVs and warehouse equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy items, operate warehouse machinery, and perform duties as required by both driving and warehouse tasks.

  • Prior Law Enforcement or Military experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Government-owned tractor-trailers with capacities greater than 13 tons—including tractor-trailer combinations—to transport and deliver equipment across the United States.
  • Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew, and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned for safe operations.
  • Read and interpret maps and utilize GPS or truck cab computers to determine and follow efficient vehicle routes to specified destinations.
  • Perform thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to verify proper working conditions, including mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment.
  • Load or unload equipment from trucks using appropriate loading-related equipment; properly secure cargo with ropes, blocks, chains, binders, or covers to ensure safe transport.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including trip logs, vehicle inspection reports, delivery receipts, and incident reports in accordance with regulatory and organizational policies.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles promptly to ensure accountability and compliance.
  • Receive, inspect, process, and inventory incoming shipments; prepare outbound shipments for dispatch and delivery as directed.
  • Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) to move materials safely and efficiently, while assisting with inventory control and cycle counts.
  • Package, label, and document items for shipment in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Maintain orderly and safe warehouse environments, ensuring all supplies and equipment are properly accounted for and stored.
  • Validate shipping and receiving documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and inventory records.
  • Use automated and manual tracking systems to update or retrieve information for inventory management.
