About The Position

This role is for a full-time warehouse associate on the 2nd shift (4:00 PM - 12:30 AM, Monday-Friday) within the Staples World Class Supply Chain Team. Associates will be responsible for delivering essential products to customers and may work in various areas including Bulk/Material Handling, Porter, Replenishment, Receiving/Putaway/Returns, Returns, or Shipping. The position involves operating material handling equipment, adhering to safety procedures, and performing a range of tasks from picking and moving products to cleaning, confirming accuracy, unloading trucks, palletizing, organizing, stacking, and shrink-wrapping customer orders. Flexibility to move between different warehouse roles (SC2 and SC1) as needed is required, with safety being the utmost priority.

Requirements

Ability to be Material Handling Equipment Operator certified and safely operate necessary material handling equipment.
Ability and willingness to keep work area clean.

Ability to work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
Minimum three (3) months related experience in a warehouse environment; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience.
Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent permissible legally.
Basic English language skills (both verbal and written communications).
Ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift; additional overtime hours will be required based on business need (for Full-Time associates).
Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet or more as needed.
Ability to lift, push or pull boxes/merchandise weighing between 70 pounds and 100 pounds by hand.
Must wear safety composite shoes.
Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time.
Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack and cherry picker helpful.

Responsibilities

Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to pick product up to 100 lbs and move product within the warehouse.
Adhere to safety procedures in all tasks.
Perform general cleaning and basic maintenance duties both inside and outside of the facility (if assigned as Warehouse Porter).
Confirm accuracy of product and work with colleagues to address discrepancies and damages (if assigned to Receiving/Putaway/Returns).
Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external contacts to clarify and resolve issues (if assigned to Receiving/Putaway/Returns).
Manually unload trucks and palletize products (if assigned to Receiving/Putaway/Returns).
Match item quantities and descriptions to packing slips on returned items (if assigned to Warehouse Returns).
Check in returned product and tag it appropriately (if assigned to Warehouse Returns).
Organize, stack, and shrink-wrap customer orders on pallets (if assigned to Shipping).
Load trucks manually; lift, lower, and carry product in a fast-paced environment (if assigned to Shipping).
Stack empty pallets while maintaining a safe and clean workspace.
Ensure safe work practices and embrace the company's safety culture.
