About The Position

Join the Staples World Class Supply Chain Team as a warehouse associate. This role is essential for delivering products to customers and involves working in various areas such as Warehouse Bulk/Material Handling Equipment Operator, Warehouse Porter, Warehouse Replenishment, Warehouse Receiving/Putaway/Returns, Warehouse Returns, and Shipping. Associates will be responsible for operating material handling equipment, performing general cleaning, managing product accuracy and returns, and organizing and loading customer orders. Safety is a top priority, and associates are expected to ensure safe work practices and embrace the company's safety culture. Associates may be moved between different roles as business needs require.

Requirements

• Ability to be Material Handling Equipment Operator certified and safely operate necessary material handling equipment.
• Ability and willingness to keep work area clean.
• An inclusive approach with colleagues and customers to forge strong relationships and foster collaboration to resolve issues.
• Ability to adopt safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
• Minimum three (3) months related experience in a warehouse environment; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience.
• Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent permissible legally.
• Basic English language skills (both verbal and written communications).
• Ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift; additional overtime hours will be required based on business need (for Full-Time associates).
• Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet or more as needed.
• Ability to lift, push or pull boxes/merchandise weighing between 70 pounds and 100 pounds by hand.
• Must wear safety composite shoes.
• Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack and cherry picker helpful.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to pick product up to 100 lbs and move product within the warehouse.
• Adhere to safety procedures.
• Perform general cleaning and basic maintenance duties both inside and outside of the facility.
• Confirm accuracy of product and work with colleagues to address discrepancies and damages.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external contacts to clarify and resolve issues.
• Manually unload trucks and palletize products.
• Match item quantities and descriptions to packing slips on returned items.
• Check in returned product and tag it appropriately.
• Organize, stack, and shrink-wrap customer orders on pallets.
• Load trucks manually; lift, lower, and carry product in a fast-paced environment.
• Stack empty pallets while maintaining a safe and clean workspace.
• Ensure safe work practices and embrace the safety culture.
• Keep work area clean.
