About The Position

Operates any position within the warehouse by performing the following duties. Essential Functions Expected to have the knowledge to operate every position in the warehouse. Able to handle all aspects of loading, shipping, receiving, and inventory. Inspects and repairs (as needed) packaging and pallet organization. Checks and records inventory. Reports any discrepancies to supervisor. Schedules cheese pick-ups that allow for rapid loading and quick departures. This includes staging loads for faster loading times whenever possible. Responsible for delivering heavy items to the necessary areas of the plant from dry storage. Ensures that samples are pulled from every sixtieth block of cheese to check for quality. Ensures that every time a rack is emptied it is inspected for any defects. Maintains a clean working environment by picking up debris, sweeping and mopping floors, washing walls, straightening pallets and inspecting racks. Keeps records in accordance with good manufacturing process and local and state laws. Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables. Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct. Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates. (Food Safety Modernization Act- FSMA, Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance) Delivering on Glanbia's Values: "Showing Respect" - Research issues & incidents with internal teams, business partners and customers in a collaborative manner that includes professional, honest and transparent communication. Take ownership of customer requests and engage with internal teams as needed and within a timely manner. "Performance Matters" - Meet or exceed all key metrics in line with expectations for role. Continually update knowledge of products, product changes, processes and services offered to deliver a dynamic customer experience. Additional Functions Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to run, or learn to run and troubleshoot all equipment in the Warehouse.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Possess general understanding of export requirements and policies.
  • Ability to calculate correct percentages of product types to be used in product blends, based on existing recipes/formulas.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Possess good understanding of OSHA, USDA, HACCP, Loss Control, and Safety policies/practices.
  • Regularly involves, talking or listening, sitting, and the use of hands and fingers.
  • Frequently involves reaching with hands and arms, standing and walking.
  • Occasionally involves crouching, stooping, and/or kneeling.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
  • Involves moderate physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
  • Should be able to judge distances and spatial relationships.
