About The Position

Join the Staples World Class Supply Chain Team as a Warehouse Associate, delivering essential products to customers. This role may involve working in various areas such as Warehouse Bulk/Material Handling Equipment Operator, Warehouse Porter, Warehouse Replenishment, Warehouse Receiving/Putaway/Returns, Warehouse Returns, or Shipping. Responsibilities include operating material handling equipment, moving products, ensuring product accuracy, performing cleaning duties, and adhering to safety procedures. Associates are expected to be flexible and may be moved between different roles as needed. Safety is a top priority, and associates are expected to embrace and ensure safe work practices.

Requirements

  • Ability to be Material Handling Equipment Operator certified and safely operate necessary material handling equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to keep work area clean.
  • An inclusive approach with colleagues and customers to forge strong relationships and foster collaboration to resolve issues.
  • An ability to adopt safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices.
  • An ability to work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
  • Minimum three (3) months related experience in a warehouse environment; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent permissible legally.
  • Basic English language skills (both verbal and written communications).
  • Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet or more as needed.
  • An ability to lift, push or pull boxes/merchandise weighing between 70 pounds and 100 pounds by hand.
  • Must wear safety composite shoes.
  • Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack and cherry picker.

Responsibilities

  • Operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to pick product up to 100 lbs and move product within the warehouse.
  • Adhering to safety procedures.
  • Performing general cleaning and basic maintenance duties both inside and outside of the facility (for Warehouse Porter).
  • Confirming accuracy of product and working with colleagues to address discrepancies and damages (for Warehouse Receiving/Putaway/Returns).
  • Communicating effectively and professionally with internal and external contacts to clarify and resolve issues (for Warehouse Receiving/Putaway/Returns).
  • Manually unloading trucks and palletizing products (for Warehouse Receiving/Putaway/Returns).
  • Matching item quantities and descriptions to packing slips on returned items (for Warehouse Returns).
  • Checking in returned product and tagging it appropriately (for Warehouse Returns).
  • Organizing, stacking, and shrink-wrapping customer orders on pallets (for Shipping).
  • Loading trucks manually; lifting, lowering, and carrying product in a fast-paced environment (for Shipping).
  • Stacking empty pallets while maintaining a safe and clean workspace (for Shipping).
  • Ensuring safe work practices and embracing the safety culture.
