About The Position

Ryder is immediately hiring permanent full-time Skilled Laborers and Construction Professionals to ensure excellent craftsmanship at their manufacturing facility in Ontario, California. These positions offer weekly pay, starting at $18.00 per hour and increasing to $20.00 per hour after training. An additional $0.60 piece rate is provided once the daily quota is met. The work schedule is Friday - Sunday from 4:00 am - 2:30 pm and Monday from 3:00 pm - 1:30 am. Employees will work in a safe warehouse environment using state-of-the-art equipment to repair or assemble pallets. This involves using pneumatic nail guns, powered saws, and other hand/power tools. The role requires standing for 8-10 hours and lifting up to 75 pounds throughout the shift. Ryder emphasizes safety, provides safety gear, and offers comprehensive benefits starting at 30 days.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 0 to 1 year in carpentry or construction background preferred
  • Ability to comprehend basic math
  • Ability to operate power tools in a safe manner
  • Must be able to follow repair process
  • Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to use proper techniques to lift a minimum of 75 lbs
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day)
  • Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards
  • Operate a pry bar to detach damaged boards from the pallets
  • Operate a hammer, grinder and a saw to remove existing nails and use a 25 lb nail gun to nail together the components
  • Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a repair table
  • Pallet must meet and pass CHEP's quality control audit
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
  • Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety
  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
  • Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets
  • Performs other duties as required
