General Description: The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for leading and executing all warehouses, inventory control, shipping, and receiving activities in a manufacturing environment. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on operational leadership to ensure accurate inventory, efficient material flow, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement. The position partners closely with manufacturing, procurement, and production planning while actively monitoring performance through data, metrics, and KPIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in warehousing, inventory control, shipping, and receiving.
  • Manufacturing or highly regulated production environment experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on the warehouse floor while managing broader operational priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience developing metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and performance reports.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel or data analysis tools.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement capabilities.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, staging, and shipping.
  • Actively participate on the warehouse floor as needed, leading by example and supporting operational execution.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust inventory control processes, including cycle counting, physical inventories, reconciliation, and transaction audits.
  • Analyze inventory and operational data to identify trends, resolve discrepancies, reduce excess and obsolete inventory, and improve inventory turns.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, and production planning to ensure material availability and production continuity at the point of use.
  • Develop, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, throughput, dock-to-stock time, space utilization, and on-time delivery.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, material flow optimization, and process standardization (Lean / 5S).
  • Oversee shipping and receiving accuracy, freight coordination, carrier performance, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, housekeeping (5S), and internal operating procedures.
  • Manage, train, and develop warehouse and logistics staff; set priorities, assign work, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Support ERP/MRP system accuracy, transactions, and process improvements related to inventory and logistics.
  • Operate and oversee warehouse equipment as required (forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, etc.).
