This position is responsible for: Supervises and participates in the work performed by employees, beneficiaries and/or community service workers in the warehouse; ensures that all donated items are processed through the warehouse in a timely manner and in accordance with established standards; ensures the thrift store remains adequately stocked. Key Responsibilities: Serves as a lead worker to warehouse staff (employees, beneficiaries and community service workers) and volunteers; schedules and monitors their work; instructs and trains staff in proper methods and procedures for performing work; inspects work in progress and upon completion for accuracy and completeness; responds to employees questions and assists in revolving operational and personnel problems; ensures the work performed in compliance with established standards, policies and procedures. Monitors the arrival and distribution of all donations ensuring that items reach the appropriate destination in a timely manner. Monitors the supply of items available in the warehouse in order to determine the areas needing additional stock. Supervises and participates in tagging items with specially coded tickets and/or prices in accordance with established procedures. Supervises and participates in hanging clothes on hangers and placing same on clothes racks. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Physical ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light objects (less than 25 lbs.). Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building, but may require driving within the service area. Work is performed in a warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather of discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like, but may require driving with exposure to the outdoors whare there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, and the like.
