About The Position

This position is responsible for management of the MFI finished goods warehouse in the West Jefferson location. Responsible for ensuring that customer service levels are achieved and that costs are optimized. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Minimum of three years of warehouse supervisory/management experience, including management of expenses, staff and inventory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in addition to sound interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills required, including MS Excel and Word, SAP experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Management development courses in the field of warehousing and distribution.
  • Perishable food warehousing experience.
  • Third party warehousing experience.
  • Experience with ERP and Warehouse Management Systems. SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead project teams and effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations.

Responsibilities

  • Manages warehousing and inventory control functions by developing and managing performance objectives, prioritizing projects and managing daily operations. Also responsible for development and execution of facility strategic plans.
  • Develops operations and capital budgets, and is responsible for performance against them, while maintaining targeted service levels. Reports to management on a regular basis.
  • In conjunction with Human Resources Department, ensure highest level of human safety. Also responsible for hiring, scheduling, performance management and growth of staff.
  • Manages inventory control process by ensuring accurate and efficient receiving, storage and shipments of products.
  • Maintains and reports on facility Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to esure targeted performance is met in the areas of service, cost, human safety, etc.
  • Plans facility layout and equipment and staffing needs for future operations.
  • Develops, reviews, updates and monitors compliance of standard operating policies and processes, in conjunction with other MFI warehouses.
  • Lead and/or participate in strategic and tactical projects in various areas of Michael Foods Supply Chain.
  • Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
  • Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned.
