About The Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for all inventory movement in the Distributorship’s warehouse, including loading and unloading trucks, supervising 2-3 Warehouse Workers, ordering and handling bi-products and Econos, and processing cores. This role encompasses all warehouse jobs such as receiving, putaways, picking, replenishments, packing, palletizing, and shipping. The manager directs Warehouse Workers, fosters continuous process improvement, and ensures the implementation of standard operating procedures to meet or exceed performance standards. Key responsibilities also include managing inventory quality, accuracy, and asset protection, as well as developing strategies to optimize workflow, space utilization, and labor productivity. The position requires ensuring that all warehouse processes comply with safety regulations, laws, and applicable standards. Additional duties involve processing inbound shipments, preparing operational reports, operating and training on forklifts, and fulfilling all driver program requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year warehouse management experience including inventory control procedures and inventory/ accounting relationships
  • 3 years of general warehouse operations experience
  • Superior leadership, management, motivation and teamwork skills
  • Strong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills and able to work under pressure
  • Working knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing and distribution methods
  • Understanding of state, federal and interstate commerce regulations
  • Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required
  • Superior training and coaching skills
  • Have keen understanding of hazardous shipping laws and requirements
  • Current, valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles

Responsibilities

  • Perform all warehouse jobs including: Receiving, Putaways, Picking, Replenishments, Packing, Palletizing, and Shipping
  • Direct Warehouse Workers
  • Participate and engage team in the practice of continuous process improvement
  • Responsible for implementation of applicable standard operating procedures and accountable for ensuring performance standards are met/exceeded
  • Manage inventory quality, accuracy and asset protection
  • Develop stock location and order picking strategies to optimize work flow, space utilization, and labor productivity
  • Ensure that operations warehouse processes are conducted safely and within the law and applicable compliance standards
  • Process inbound receiving of containers or full truck, truck pallet shipments, and small parcel shipments
  • Prepare and distribute operational reports
  • Operate forklift and train Warehouse Workers in safe and efficient use of same
  • Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager
