About The Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations supporting a multi-location retail organization. This role has full ownership of all merchandise receiving, inventory accuracy, inter-location transfers, and annual inventory counts. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for execution, supervision, and accountability. The Warehouse Manager directly supervises a full-time Warehouse Assistant/Driver and works closely with retail leadership to ensure product moves accurately, efficiently, and on schedule across all locations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of warehouse distribution and management experience, preferably in retail or multi-location environments
  • Supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated experience with high-volume receiving and inventory control
  • Proven experience planning and executing annual physical inventory counts
  • Experience supervising warehouse or logistics staff
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and process discipline
  • Proficiency with inventory systems, POS software, and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with physical activity throughout the day

Responsibilities

  • Manage all daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, transfers, and deliveries
  • Maintain an organized, efficient, and safe warehouse environment
  • Establish and enforce warehouse procedures and workflows
  • Monitor space utilization and inventory flow to support retail demand
  • Support new store openings, special events, remodels and/or major inventory shifts as needed
  • Coordinate deliveries for other corporate departments as needed while maintaining clear priorities ensuring uninterrupted support for retail operations
  • Receive all incoming merchandise for the retail department
  • Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices
  • Ensure all receiving is accurately entered into the POS/inventory system
  • Resolve discrepancies related to shortages, damages, or incorrect shipments
  • Ensure receiving documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready
  • Communicate receiving status and issues to retail leadership and finance
  • Maintain accurate inventory records across warehouse and retail locations
  • Oversee cycle counts and inventory spot checks as needed
  • Plan, organize, and execute the annual full physical inventory count
  • Coordinate inventory count schedules, staffing, and procedures
  • Reconcile inventory variances and support post-inventory adjustments
  • Partner with leadership and finance to ensure inventory integrity
  • Oversee all transfers between the warehouse and retail locations
  • Ensure transfers are picked, packed, scanned, documented, and delivered accurately
  • Confirm transfer paperwork accompanies all shipments
  • Coordinate delivery routes and schedules with retail locations
  • Ensure receiving locations properly verify and receive transferred inventory
  • Directly supervise the Warehouse Assistant/Driver
  • Assign daily responsibilities and prioritize workload
  • Train staff on receiving, transfers, inventory control, and safety
  • Hold team members accountable to procedures and timelines
  • Communicating staffing needs and performance concerns to leadership
  • Utilize POS and inventory systems (e.g., Heartland Retail, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Maintain organized physical and digital inventory documentation
  • Provide reports related to receiving, transfers, and inventory accuracy
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors
  • Serve as the primary warehouse point of contact for the retail department
