The company has approximately 36,000 associates across 1,700 locations. Ferguson is hiring a Warehouse Manager to lead operations at their Pittsburgh, PA final-mile delivery facility. This facility is a 165,000 sq. ft warehouse operating 24 hours a day, five days a week. The Warehouse Manager will have direct oversight of 4 associates and 50 indirect associates, generally working first shift but must be available for other shifts based on operational demands within a WMS environment.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience in distribution management leading 10+ employees in a large distribution/warehouse environment
  • Leadership experience in managing and developing a team, mentoring, coaching, training, and performance management
  • Ability to work with people and build an environment that is positive and engaging for the associates
  • Phenomenal interactive communication skills with ability to effectively communicate to different levels of the organization
  • Previous experience working in a WMS environment with RF technology
  • Strong computer skills to include expertise in Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Proficient in OSHA and DOT regulations

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for warehouses, ability to be a change agent and adopt change and development
  • Build, communicate, and affect vision for growth and improvement
  • Directly engage with associates on the production floor as this is an onsite position
  • Actively build a strong proactive safety culture by engaging with warehouse associates, leading potential hazard walks, and promoting safe work practices
  • Increase and maintain high levels of associate engagement throughout the operation
  • Provide consistent communication to associates and counterparts
  • Drive high levels of quality in customer shipments, inventory integrity within the building
  • Maintain and develop a productive warehouse by hiring, training, and providing professional development for all associates
  • Lead and oversee associates performing activities including unloading and stocking of inbound shipments, order picking, packaging, shipping of outbound orders and cycle counting
  • Ensure high levels of cleanliness are maintained in our sites and confirm that cycle counts are completed daily and accurately
  • Maintain security of warehouse and safety of all associates and equipment, reporting any accidents and conveying any issues to management
  • Travel to customer sites (approximately 10% of the time) to support project implementations and operational needs
  • Build strong interpersonal skills and rapport while working in person at customer facilities
  • Perform on-site assessments and gather requirements to ensure a positive customer experience
